Motihari College of Engineering, Motihari was initially founded as Indian College of Engineering on November 24, 1980, which was situated in the holy land where Mahatma Gandhi started his fight with non-violence for Independence of our nation. Later, Government of Bihar has taken over the college and, resumed the Institute on November 24, 2008. The Institute is fully funded by Department of Science &Technology (DST), Government of Bihar and affiliated to Aryabhatt Knowledge University (AKU), Patna.

The Institute offers four B. Tech. Courses in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering. Apart from this, a set of short programmes like KYP, PMKVY and SWAYAM PRABHAare running for improvisation the technical education in Bihar.The Institute is one of the premiere Government Engineering colleges in Bihar which has been selected by the Government of Indiafor the Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP-III).

The Institute is well known for its discipline, dedicated faculty members, and healthy academic environment. The Institute is continuously striving to achieve higher levels of technical excellence.Evolving socially relevant and effective teaching methodologies and focusing on the wholesome development of the students are our prime concerns. Besides a team of full-time devoted and skilled faculty members in the relevant branches of engineering, the other assets of the college include an advanced library, an extensive workshop complex, a state-of-the-art Language and computer Laboratory, Wi-Fi facility and Intra-network. Extracurricular activities like sports and cultural activities strengthen the process of learning by teaching students the value of hard work, discipline and fair play.

New academic building,faculty and staff quarters and guest house with state-of-art facilities are under construction.The new structure of the Institute is developing fast as an Eco-friendly and sustainable infrastructure.
